POTSDAM -- The Kiwanis Club will host an open house Wednesday, Jan. 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Potsdam Civic Center community room. Visitors can park at the main street lot, next to the fire station. Refreshments will be served.
Information about Kiwanis International and the local club will be on display. Kiwanians and member of the K-Kids and Key Club youth groups will be available to explain what Kiwanis does on the local, national and international levels.
A short promotional film will be shown as well.
“This is a wonderful way for us to inform the community about our projects and sponsored youth groups,” stated Potsdam Kiwanis President Effa Sullivan.
“The Potsdam Kiwanis Club was chartered in 1989, and will celebrate its twenty-fifth anniversary in 2014. We are using this Open House to kick off the new year, get the word out about Kiwanis, and hopefully attract some new members from not only Potsdam but neighboring communities that may not have a Kiwanis Club,” explained membership committee volunteer Marylee Ballou.
