POTSDAM – The Potsdam Food Co-op will be celebrating 38 years in the North Country with its annual open house on Saturday, Sept. 17 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. at 24 Elm St.
Stop in for a day of food, music, and fun. This is an opportunity for those who are interested in learning more about the co-op (membership is not required to make purchases) to see the store and what it has to offer, as well as a time for co-op members and shoppers to gather socially.
Everyone who shops in the store on the day of the open house will receive a 10 percent discount on purchases (a few exclusions apply).
There will be food to sample from the co-op’s own Carriage House Bakery and Natural Foods Deli in addition to samples from co-op vendors including regional Mu Mu Muesli, as well as new local goat cheeses from Grasse River B Ranch, and more.
Scoopuccino’s Restaurant of Potsdam will be serving some favorites from their menu, and local St. Lawrence Valley Roasters will be serving their popular organic fair-trade coffee.
Activities will include a “Butter Dance” for children at 11:30 a.m. to the beat of Animal Crackers, and face-painting by co-op board member, Mary Egan.
A variety of music will be provided throughout the day by local bands; Animal Crackers, Crescent Street Jam, Minor Swing, and Northbound.
