Percussions Claviers de Lyon to perform at SUNY Potsdam Feb. 24

POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will host the Percussions Claviers de Lyon Sunday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Snell Music Theater.

The French quintet will present an introduction to the world of percussion in a free concert/lecture.

The Percussions Claviers de Lyon concert will include selections of works by Claude Debussy, François Narboni and Thierry Pécou.

The Percussions Claviers de Lyon consists of Raphaël Aggery, Sylvie Aubelle, Jérémy Daillet, Gilles Dumoulin and Gérard Lecointe, who is also the artistic director. The Percussions Claviers de Lyon was founded in 1983. The quintet has been producing a new repertoire for their instruments for more than 25 years.

Performing on marimbas, vibraphones and xylophones, these five musicians reach out to their audiences with original performances of pieces from their musical heritage and multidisciplinary shows, as well as works by contemporary composers.
