NYPA's free movies to be shown Fridays in October in Massena

MASSENA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will continue its free “Friday Matinees” in October with showings of classic and contemporary movies at the admission-free Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors Center and Boat Launch in Massena.

Every Friday in October, NYPA will show the scheduled movies at 1:30 p.m. in the visitors center auditorium. Free popcorn will be provided.

The movie schedule for October is:

Oct. 14: “A Walk to Remember” (2007). The story of two North Carolina teens, Landon Carter and Jamie Sullivan, who are thrown together after Landon gets into trouble and is made to do community service.

Oct. 21: “Holiday” (1938). A young man’s unorthodox plan to go on holiday for the early years of his life is met with skepticism by everyone except for his fiancée's eccentric sister and hid=s long- suffering brother.

Oct 28: “It Happened One Night” (1934). A spoiled heiress, running away from her family, is helped by a man who's actually a reporter looking for a story.
