CANTON – NPR’s senior editor Mark Memmott will give a presentation in Canton on the topic of modern journalism and ethics on Wednesday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence University’s Sykes Commons on Park Street.

Memmott is NPR's supervising senior editor for standards and practices and serves as a resource for NPR journalists, helping them raise the right questions as they do their work and uphold the organization's standards.

His talk will focus on the challenges that reporters and news organizations are facing in a time of media fragmentation and sound bites, and how NPR and public radio stations apply best practices to their decision-making and news reporting.

The public is invited to come listen and to ask questions.

In addition, Memmott will be the guest on a special call-in to air on North Country Public Radio on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m.

Listeners will be invited to call and ask questions.
