The Northern New York Bassmasters Club 2011 tournament season is underway, with several events in St. Lawrence County during the summer.

Their next tournament site is along the St. Lawrence River at the launch near the Massena intake July 9.

They will be on Black Lake, from the state launch, July 23.

They meet on Lake Ontario, from Henderson Harbor, Aug. 6.

They return to the St. Lawrence River Aug. 27, off of Ogdensburg from Patterson Street.

They are back on the lake, at Chaumont Bay, Sept. 10.

And they wrap up the season with the Club Championship on the St. Lawrence River at Waddington Sept. 24 and 25.

The Northern New York Bassmasters Club is anglers from across the North Country and Canada. The club was founded in 2003 to establish a team tournament series to further the enjoyment of competitive bass fishing.

Boat limits are five bass, smallmouth and largemouth. Anglers can only use artificial lures. Live bait is prohibited.

Tournaments are open only to club members, but anyone can apply to join the Northern New York Bassmasters by paying the association’s annual dues and an entry fee to enter a tournament.

Applications can be downloaded at http://northernnybassmastersclub.freehomepage.com/.

Fans can follow season results on the website, and watch all the anglers weigh-in their fish at 3 p.m. on tournament days.
