POTSDAM -- The North Country Veterans Appreciation Committee is holding a veterans appreciation day on Aug. 9 from noon to 4 p.m. at Cheel Arena, 8 Clarkson Ave.
The group has held the event for the past several years, and this year will focus on Vietnam veterans.
Any Vietnam vet who pre-registers by June 15 will be recognized and receive a special token at the opening ceremony.
The event will include live entertainment and free food. County and state veteran service officers will be onhand to answer questions relating to veterans' issues, VA healthcare enrollment, the St. Lawrence County Clerk's veterans discount card program and counseling at the Watertown Vet Center.
