CANTON – The North Country Region Area 27 annual Special Olympics New York Summer Games are set for Saturday, April 30 at SUNY Canton.
As many as 170 athletes are expected to participate in track, field and basketball events.
Lots of volunteers and 50 coaches have worked with the athletes to prepare for these competitions.
Community and student volunteers will number around 200 for the annual games.
Opening Ceremonies begin at 9:45 a.m. in the Roos House.
Competitions start immediately afterwards in the field house and ice rink.
Basketball team competitions will be held at Dana gym.
Special Olympics New York – North Country Region serves 250 athletes from St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties through 25 training programs.
