POTSDAM -- North Country Children's Museum, 10 Raymond St., is hosting a variety of hands-on science and art weekend programs in September.
All drop-in family programs are scheduled for 11 a.m.-noon every Saturday and Sunday and are free with the cost of admission or membership.
NCCM also has drop-in early childhood programs for kids four and younger each Thursday from 10:15-11 a.m. There is no need to pre-register.

• Sept. 1, Hardest Workers in the Animal Kingdom, learn about all the hard work that other species in the animal kingdom do;
• Sept. 2, Morph Me!, learn about Camouflage animals that use blending in to survive;
• Sept. 8, Make Your Own Ice Cream, explores the different ways ice cream is made;
• Sept. 9, Illumination Illustration, learn about different types of luminescence; attendees create a glow in the dark painting to take home;
• Sept. 15, Petroglyphs to Emojis, learn about the history of symbols, create unique petroglyph;
• Sept. 16, Metamorphosis, learn about the metamorphosis of a butterfly, make maple seed butterfly to take home;
• Sept. 22, Renewable Energies, learn about renewable and nonrenewable energy in this interactive science workshop;
• Sept. 23, Movie Posters, learn how 3D movies are created, construct a pair of 3D glasses and create a 3D movie poster;
• Sept. 29, Rubberband Helicopters, learn about the mechanics of helicopter flight, then design and build your own helicopter using rubber bands;
• Sept. 30, Sand Mandalas, learn about the sand Mandala.
