POTSDAM -- The Night's Black Bird Trio will perform Wednesday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Snell Theater at the Crane School of Music.
The group will perform airs, arias, madrigals and tonos, in a concert of early music.
The Night’s Black Bird trio, from Allentown, Penn., offers a program of 16th- and 17th-century songs with accompaniment on lute, Baroque guitar, and bass viola da gamba.
Developed with some grant assistance, the repertoire includes works by Giulio Caccini, Thomas Campion, John Dowland, José Marín, Claudio Monteverdi, and Philip Rosseter.
The trio began its collaboration in early 2017 and features vocalist Katherine Kaiser, Elizabeth Conner (viola da gamba), and Ted Conner (lute).
