Nature Up North is hosting a wildflower walk in Russell and an introductory fishing clinic in Ogdensburg.

The Wildflower walk is set for July 25 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Lampson Falls in Russell.

The group will walk the half-mile trail to the waterfall and then explore the trails beyond, searching for hidden blooms along the way.

Info: http://natureupnorth.org/event/wildflower-walk.

The "Go Fish! Introductory Fishing Clinic" is slated for July 26 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Eel Weir in Ogdensburg.

The Nature Up North team will give lessons about local fish and how to cast. No previous experience required. Fishing poles will be provided, but attendees can bring their own gear.

Participants may also want to bring sunscreen, water and a camera (to post pictures of catches on natureupnorth.org).

Shorts and close-toed sandals or old sneakers are recommended for wading.

Participants over age 16 are required to have a fishing license.

Nature Up North asks participants who need poles to RSVP because their supplies are limited.
