'Music for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur' concert planned Friday in Canton

CANTON -- St. Lawrence University will kick off its 2018-19 Noon in the Chapel concert series with “Music for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur” at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert will feature the Ad Hoc Singers of Alexandra Jacobs Wilke, Julia Pomainville, Chris Rediehs, and Galen K. Pletcher; Laura Rediehs on the flute; and Sondra Goldsmith Proctor playing organ and piano.

The performance will include compositions by Ernest Bloch, Siegfried Würzburger, Herbert Fromm, Michael Horvit, John Rutter and liturgical settings to celebrate the High Holy Day services.

Parking for chapel events will be in H-Lot, across from Griffiths Arts Center and next to Vilas Hall. There also will be a drop-off location and limited handicapped parking spaces in front of Richardson Hall and at the front of the chapel.
