POTSDAM -- A Memorial Day run/walk to honor fallen soldiers will take place on Memorial Day, May 28, starting in Ives Park at 8 a.m.
Participants will meet near the plaque honoring SPC Chad Fuller, at the far end of the park, on the river side.
The public is invited to participate and wear blue, as part of the national Wear Blue movement to honor fallen service members and their families’ sacrifice.
“It will start with a circle of remembrance, calling out names of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice,” said event organizer Jennifer McDonald.
“Then we will push off to walk or run. There is no set course. You can walk or run your mileage at your pace and your mileage. The 8 a.m. start will allow time to move with purposeful steps and be done before the parade start at 9.”
Those unable to participate can pledge to walk or run some miles at http://www.wearblueruntoremember.org/memorial-day
