Massena/Louisville Relay For Life asking people to wear purple on World Cancer Day Sunday, Feb. 4

MASSENA -- Relay For Life Massena/Louisville is asking people to wear purple or Relay For Life shirts on Sunday, Feb. 4, which is designated World Cancer Day.

World Cancer Day is an international day to bring awareness of cancer and to encourage prevention, early detection and treatment. Relay For Life Massena/Louisville is asking individuals to show their support by wearing purple or Relay For Life apparel and post a picture on Massena/Louisville Relay For Life facebook page or on the World Cancer Day Facebook event page.

Individuals can also shave their head for real or virtually to show support.

Other upcoming Relay For Life Massena/Louisville events are Carol’s Dreamcatchers Circle of Hope’s Drag Show, on Feb. 10, 7:30 p.m., Massena VFW, $5 admission; spaghetti dinner fundraiser, March 3, 4-7 p.m., Massena Elks Lodge, $9 in advance, $10 at the door; craft show, March 24, at the Massena Marine Corps League 685, 166 Maple St.; 2nd Annual Relay for Life Color Walk/Run, June 1, 6:30 p.m., Ray Hurlbut Community Center, $15 in advance, $20 after May 16; and Relay for Life 2018, June 1, 6 p.m., Ray Hurlbut Community Center, free admission, www.relayforlife.org/massenany to register.
