MASSENA – Special programs mixing outdoor fun, environmental education and crafts are planned for children ages 5 to 12 Aug. 23 through 27 at the Nature Center, temporarily located at Barnhart Beach, Robert Moses State Park from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
The fees for each day are just $10 per child. Children should bring a lunch and a drink. Activities are as follows:
• Monday, Aug. 23: Rainbows & Light Magic; science games, “Ty-Dyed” t-shirts & outdoor fun.
• Tuesday, Aug. 24: Exploring the River; fish studies, bird search, fish printing & more.
• Wednesday, Aug. 25: Tall Tree Tales; lots of fun learning about trees with art and science.
• Thursday, Aug. 26: Solar Fun; learn all about the sun and cook pizzas in a solar oven.
• Friday, Aug. 27: Plants to Fear, Plants to Love; learn what plants are safe and what ones aren’t.
