MASSENA -- This weekend, for the second consecutive year, Northeast Team Bass will set up shop here in search of the lunker bass that call the mighty St. Lawrence River home.
Before the sun comes up Sunday morning, more than 45 boats will head out of the Massena Intake boat launch. The anglers will be chasing big fish to earn points and money. Northeast Team Bass, based in northeastern New York State, held its Tournament of Champions here last year to crown its winner.
Results will be posted here.

Tracy Hanchett, whose husband will compete in the tournament, said the competitors had so much fun in Massena last year they were anxious to return. “The guys loved it up there and they were begging to come back,” she said in a press release from the Town of Massena.
Massena Town Supervisor Joseph D. Gray said tournaments like this one are good for the community and help expose even more people to great fishing and all that Massena has to offer.
