Six maple producers in St. Lawrence County will join together March 16 and 17, and again on March 23 and 24, for Maple Weekend.
The producers will have activities and samples from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. A list of participating producers, with maps to their locations, can be found at www.mapleweekend.com.
Horse and wagon rides, art and coloring contests, walks, RTV buggy rides, face painting, demonstrations and free samples will be featured.
Maple syrup is the basic ingredient for dozens of products including maple cream, maple sugar, maple coffee, maple tea, molded maple sugar, maple jelly, maple mustard, maple suckers, maple butter, maple cotton candy, maple oatmeal bread, maple apple butter, maple walnut fudge, maple peanuts and maple mousse.
