Lisbon school hosting wellness fair

LISBON -- Lisbon Central School will host a community wellness fair, with over 25 vendors presenting, on Nov. 8 from noon to 8 p.m.

This event will coincide with parent-teacher conferences, but is open to the public. Free childcare will be provided, pizza will be sold in the cafeteria, and attendees can gain information from presenters.

“Wellness includes physical health, but also emotional and mental health and much more,” said LCS 5-12 Principal Lauren Morley. “We want to engage our school community and provide a place for everyone to come together and learn about the resources available in our area. This event is for everyone and we hope to see a good turn out.”

The following groups will be present:

Girl Scouts, LCS Drama Club, LCS Yearbook, Renewal House, Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, Adolescent Outreach, CPH-Physical Therapy, Positivity Project

Natural Nook, Public Health, Reachout, Center for Sight & Ogdensburg Lions Club (eye exams), Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Rehab Services, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Community Relations, Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Community Health, Lisbon Health Center, NYS Troopers, SUNY Canton Health and Fitness Program

The Resource Center for Independent Living, St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Department *child ID cards available from (3-7 p.m. parent and child must be present), St. Lawrence Child Care Council Inc., Adolescent Outreach, Nutritionist Maggie McGuire, LCS Student Council, Dental Sealant Program, St. Lawrence County Stop DWI Traffic Safety, St. Lawrence Health Initiative, SLPC, LCS PTO
