CANTON -- Nature Up North is sponsoring a “Fire Making and Hand Drumming Campfire” with Len Mackey Thursday, June 23 and a Little River evening paddle Tuesday, June 28.
The campfire will be at Wachtmeister Field Station, Park St./County Route 27, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Attendees can learn making fire with hand or bow drill, and feel power of songs from Native North America and Guinea West Africa.
The evening paddle starts at 6:30 p.m. from the Little River Boat Launch, Park Street. People may bring their own canoes or kayaks, or borrow one; boats are limited. RSVP to let them know you're coming: http://natureupnorth.org/events-up-north. Adult-sized life jackets are provided, but bring your own life jackets for kids.
