OGDENSBURG -- Learn about the “Adirondack Regiment” from Pete Gilbert at the next North Country Civil War Round Table on Sunday, March 25, 2 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Public Library, located at 312 Washington St.

Pete Gilbert, Jr. is a St. Lawrence County native, and the descendant of two Civil War veterans – one from the 60th New York Volunteers and the other from the 106th. When not working as an officer at the Adirondack Correctional Facility in Raybrook, NY, Gilbert serves as commanding officer of the 118th NY Volunteers reenacting unit, with a rank of captain and thirty years of experience.

Visitors who own items with Civil War provenance are encouraged to bring them to the event for a “show and tell” session before the talk.

The North Country Civil War Round Table is a program of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association. Admission to the museum is free; admission to the archives is free for members and children, $2.50 for college students, and $5 for the general public.

The St. Lawrence County Historical Association is a membership organization open to anyone interested in St. Lawrence County history. For more information, or to become a member, 315-386-8133 or info@slcha.org. Visit www.slcha.org, for more information.
