NORFOLK – The Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department’s lawnmower races are set for Sunday, Aug. 28.
The department says they have pushed the track back to make more room for parked and spectator viewing.
More than a dozen trophies will be awarded in several classes of mowers and races.
The races will be held starting at 1 p.m. at Fire Station 3 on St. Rt. 420. The gates open at noon.
Everyone’s invited to take advantage of the food and beverages that will be available once the grounds are open. There will not be a chicken barbecue as had previously been publicized, but there will be plenty of hamburgers, hot dogs, refreshments and adult beverages, plus cotton candy and other items.
