NORWOOD -- Norwood Public Library is hosting an introductory barn quilt workshop presented by the Colton Tourism and Beautification Committee.
The goal of the workshop is to introduce participants to barn quilts and to give them the confidence to paint barn quilts for themselves and/or others. Participants will be introduced to the history of barn quilts; and through hands-on activities they will learn the basics of making a barn quilt through the presentation of materials and hands-on activities.
The maximum number of participants is 10: six to create 2x2 barn quilts, and four to work on a 4x4 project as a group. Registration in the workshop is free, but those who will be making their own barn quilts will have a materials fee of approximately $30.
Those wishing to paint their own 2x2 foot barn quilt must register by April 9; otherwise participants must register by April 16.
Set up is set for April 28, at 2 p.m. for those registering to paint their own quilts. Taping and painting designs will take place April 29-30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
