Intellectual property attorney to speak at Clarkson in Potsdam this afternoon

POTSDAM -- Clarkson University’s Shipley Center for Innovation, in partnership with the New York State Innovation Hot Spot Program, will welcome intellectual property attorney Dennis Danella to campus Thursday, April 5, at 5:30 p.m.

Danella will present an overview of intellectual property law, including information about patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks, followed by a question and answer session. The event will take place in the student center multi-purpose rooms (#15 on the map at http://internal.clarkson.edu/about/clarkson_map.pdf) and is free and open to the public.

Dennis Danella is a registered patent attorney and a partner at Woods, Oviatt, Gillman in Rochester, N.Y. His practice involves counseling U.S. and multinational clients in all aspects of intellectual property law. He graduated from Clarkson in 1997 before earning his J.D. at the University of Kansas in 2002. He has been practicing intellectual property law for the past 17 years.

Clarkson's Shipley Center for Innovation works with students, faculty, and alumni to help accelerate the commercialization of emerging technologies.

Through a collaborative hands-on process, the center provides inventors and entrepreneurs with the ability to commercialize their products, connect with potential investors and utilize Clarkson faculty and student resources in order to bring their ideas to life.

By partnering with the NYS Innovation Hot Spot program, the Shipley Center is able to extend these services to inventors and entrepreneurs throughout the entire North Country region.
