POTSDAM -- “A Hug for Harriet” opens Friday, June 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Gallery at the Potsdam Town Hall, 18 Elm St.
This family-friendly exhibit features watercolor illustrations by local artist Ray Whalen. Whalen of South Colton, holds an M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan and is an alum of St. Lawrence University where he earned his M.Ed. degree.
He currently teaches art at Parishville-Hopkinton Central School.
The illustrations in the exhibit were created for “A Hug for Harriet,” a children’s book written by Glenn S. Guiles which was published in 2013.
“A Hug for Harriet” is available for purchase at St. Lawrence University’s Brewer Bookstore or through Amazon.com.
