CANTON -- The Town of Colton Tourism & Beautification Committee will present a three-day 'How-To' Barn Quilt Session on the TAUNY Center, 53 Main St., Canton, from Thursday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 27.
Participants will be required to attend for a minimum of four hours on Thursday, Aug. 25 to finalize designs, select colors and prepare boards for painting.
Friday, Aug. 26 will be a full workshop day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and painting will begin.
Barn quilts should be completed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 26 and participants can expect to spend three to four hours completing their projects.
The registration fee to be paid by all participants is $25; and it must be paid to Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY) by Wednesday, Aug. 24.
Anyone planning to paint a barn quilt, whether the owner of it or a team helper, should call 386-4289 to register. The cost of materials is estimated to be between $35 to $40.
Participants must bring their own meals and snacks. Drinks will be provided.
