Hospice gourmet brunch returning to Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- Hospice’s gourmet brunch is returning to Ogdensburg.

Owner Lou Williams is once again welcoming Hospice staff and volunteers to the Gran View for Tastes on the River on April 17.

The cost is $40 per ticket.

All proceeds will help support Hospice patient services.

Seatings will begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue every 30 minutes until 2:30 p.m.

Guest chefs and underwriters for this year’s event include SUNY Canton Executive Chef Steven Maiocco, preparing seared seabass and braised pork belly served with parsnip puree and sautéed greens in a red curry sauce.

Joining the event for the first time this year is Chef Craig Bourne of ARAMARK at Clarkson University. He will offer cracker-crusted cod with carrot ribbons and roasted asparagus bundles served with creamy whipped potatoes.

Also making his Tastes debut is the Gran View’s Chef Eric Armstrong. His entrée is stuffed crepe Abruzzi featuring a handmade sweet and savory crepe with grilled chicken paillards and baby spinach in an herb and nutmeg infused béchamel. The crepe is baked in a creamy rose sauce and melted provolone garnished with crisped basil and prosciutto.

Entrées will be accompanied by soup, salad, bread and desserts from local businesses and organizations.

Reservations can be made by calling Hospice at 265-3105 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. People should include their entrée choices and two requests for seating times. Event organizers say they suggest payment in advance. The reservation deadline is April 11.
