POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Museum will hold its Holiday Open House Sunday, Dec. 3, from 2-4 p.m.
This years theme of the exhibit is "The Night Before Christmas - Borrowed Traditions from Around the World."
The exhibit examines the many contributions immigrants brought to America that were incorporated into a poem in the early 1800's.
Christmas became a legal holiday in 1870 in the United States.
There will be a reading of the “Night Before Christmas” by Jan Wojcik at 2:30, followed by a reading of an original “update” of the poem by Becky Harblin.
Following the readings will be live music by The Crescent Street Jam and refreshments.
The program is free and open to the public. A hat will be passed for the band.
Call the museum at 315-265-6910 for more information or www.PotsdamPublic Museum.org.
