POTSDAM -- The Clarkson University, SUNY Potsdam and Potsdam Central High School men’s and boys' hockey teams have teamed to raise funds to benefit a severely injured Parishville Marine on Saturday, Jan. 29.
The Sandstoners will take on Thousand Islands at 1 p.m. at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall, the Golden Knights will host Princeton at 4 p.m. at Clarkson's Cheel Arena and the Bears cap the day with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Maxcy Hall against SUNY Cortland.
Fans can purchase one ticket good for admission to all three games for $20. Proceeds will benefit Marine Cpl. Aaron Howell, the 24-year-old severely injured during a tour in Afghanistan last April. Serving as a sniper, Cpl. Howell lost both legs and suffered other wounds when a mortar round exploded near him while on patrol.
To purchase tickets, contact the Clarkson Athletic Ticket Office at 268-7750 or visit the Cheel Arena Box Office Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Donations made on Cpl. Howell's behalf without purchase of tickets can be sent to: Jamey Hoose, SUNY Potsdam (Maxcy Hall), 44 Pierrepont Ave., Potsdam, NY, 13676. For more information on the event, contact Scott Smalling at ssmallin@clarkson.edu or 268-7750.
