DEKALB -- Hermon-Dekalb Central School will show “Seusspeare” Friday, March 22 and Saturday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.
The musical will feature one-act spoofs of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” and “Romeo and Juliet.” The stories will feature modern Dr. Seuss inspired rhymes and heart-broken zombies Zombeo and Juliet.
In Zombeo and Juliet a feud unfolds between the Montgomerys, a zombie family, and their mortal enemies the Decapitates. When Romeo is killed and comes back to life as a zombie, can he ever win the heart of Juliet as she trains to become her family's newest zombie hunter? The play contains plenty of references to the original story and an undead Greek chorus to help advance the plot.
In “Seusspeare: Meet the Macbeths,” the tale of the Thane of Glamis and his murderous wife unfolds through start-to-finish rhymes straight out of Oh the Places You'll Go, and Green Eggs and Ham.
Tickets will be $5 for adults or $3 for students and seniors, with children under age three free.
