HANNAWA FALLS -- A “polar dip” to benefit the Hannawa Falls Fire Department will be held March 16 at The Canoe Place Inn, Route 56.
The event will begin with registration from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the restaurant. The first plunge into the bay is scheduled for 11 a.m. A hot tub will be available to warm up.
All proceeds go to the Hannawa Falls Fire Department.
Participants who raise at least $60 will receive a T-shirt and entry into a door prize drawing. There will be a raffle for an electric Budweiser Cooler; tickets are $5 each or three for $10.
Prizes will also be awarded for the Most Money Raised, Funniest Dressed, Most Colorful Costume, Best Jump and, of course, Loudest Scream.
