HAMMOND – The third annual Hammond Community Fall Festival sponsored by Hammond Presbyterian Church will be held Friday, Oct. 1 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event will start with a potluck dinner on Friday night; admission is free and everyone is asked to bring a dish to pass. Beverages will be provided.

There will also be a dessert cook-off Friday evening. Bring your favorite dessert.

Admission Saturday is $1 per person, under 5 free, which will be donated to the Hammond Food Pantry.

With each admission, a hot dog, chili and beverage will be provided.

There will be live music both days, contests, an inflatable jumper, food, local artist demonstrators, draft horse wagon rides, kids crafts, pumpkin painting, cake walks and more.

Music will be provided by David Hart 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Saturday music will be Rustic Riders, The Lighthouse Band and Danny Hammond of River Rat Rhythm Project Steel Drum Band.

There will be a photo contest with the theme being “North Country Seasons” and a village wide scarecrow contest. Bring photos to the church by Sept. 29 and all scarecrows should be on display by Sept. 25. Registration forms can be obtained by contacting Pastor Cathy at 324-5662.

All donations will benefit Soldier’s Angels & Adopt-a-Platoon, Heifer International, the Hammond Food Pantry, St. Lawrence Valley Hospice, Mzuzu Crisis Orphanage in Malawi, Habitat for Humanity, MINC: Ministry in the North Country, CROP, Rachel’s Challenge at Hammond Central School and First Frost Aids Walk.
