POTSDAM -- Two fourth graders in Emily McCabe’s class at Lawrence Ave. Elementary School are organizing a Halloween costume contest for dogs as a fundraiser for the Potsdam Community Dog Park.
Clare Sullivan-Catlin and Hannah Dominy came up with the idea and then put their plan into action, with a bit of help from their parents.
The event is Nov. 1 at Potsdam Agway.
Registration is $5 and all proceeds will go to the Potsdam Community Dog Park, an extension of the Potsdam Humane Society.
Registration is 11:30 to noon.
Judging will begin at noon.
The costume categories are cutest, funniest, scariest, craziest and fanciest.
The winner for each category will get a certificate and a small bag of dog treats.
The grand prize is a $50 gift card for Potsdam Agway.
