The Grieco Sisters to perform at Norwood Village Green Sunday

NORWOOD -- The Grieco Sisters will perform at the Norwood Village Green on Father’s Day on Sunday, June 17 at 4 p.m.

The sisters have presented concerts in 2017 at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield’s summer series, the Adams Community Concerts series and Watertown Musicales.

The Grieco Sisters are the children of the Harold William “Nick” Grieco and his wife of 62 years, Betty (Barrett) J. Grieco, who lived in Adams Center. Mr. Grieco, an insurance agent, died in 2012 at age 92 and Mrs. Grieco, a homemaker, died in 2014 at age 86.

The sisters grew up singing around the family’s piano. But it wasn’t until the past few years that they have taken their hobby more seriously. Based on requests, they began performing in public as a group.

From oldest to youngest, the Grieco sisters are: Toni Zygadlo of Gouverneur, Catherine G. Peyton of Adams Center, Lisa Smith of Watertown and Linda Ebensperger and Mary Jo Walsh of Camden, Oneida County.

The first three are graduates of the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.

Chris Hyde is the accompanist for the Village Green performance.

The concert is free and open to the public.

The series continues to take donations by check. They can be mailed to: Norwood Village Green Concert Series, 3 Bicknell Street, Norwood, NY 13668. All contributions are tax deductible. Donations are encouraged and needed.

The performance of The Grieco Sisters is supported by the Chevy/Buick dealership of Mort Backus and Sons, Ogdensburg, which is serving as an underwriter for this concert.
