CANTON -- Local businesses interested in learning more about government contracting are invited to a free session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 25 at the SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center.

The SBDC is partnering with the North Country Procurement Technical Assistance Center to present Procurement Counselor Nicholas Burkhard to explore the possibilities of doing business with the government.

The session is designed to help business learn about government purchasing and help marketing products and services to the government. This will include help with determining readiness to sell to the government, assistance with registration, and help in identifying bid opportunities. PTAC can help with research and bidding on contracts, women- and minority-owned certifications, bid-matching services and pre- and post-contracting issues.

“We encourage any business that is even considering selling to the federal or state government to take advantage of PTAC’s services on June 25,” said SUNY Canton SBDC Director Dale Rice.

Businesses interested in scheduling an appointment with the PTAC counselor can call the SUNY Canton SBDC at 386-7312 or email sbdc@canton.edu. For more information on PTAC’s services call 788-4400 or email ptac@northcountryptac.com.
