CANTON -- St. Lawrence University’s Noon in the Chapel concert series will celebrate spring with “Generations in Jazz” featuring songs from the Great American Songbook. The performance will begin at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, April 22, in Gunnison Memorial Chapel.
Professional musicians from the area will headline the all-acoustic concert. Pianist Bill Vitek, tenor saxophonist Tim Savage, and vocalist and drummer Kyle Tupper will be joined by two Canton High School artists, trombonist Eric Gagliardi and bassist Zach Barnes, during the performance.
Tupper is a percussion instructor at St. Lawrence while Savage directs the University’s Improv Lab and teaches private lessons. Sondra Goldsmith Proctor, St. Lawrence’s organist and musician-in-residence, organized the event and will serve as emcee.
This will conclude the ‘Noon in the Chapel’ series for St. Lawrence’s 2015-16 academic year. The next concert is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30.
