MASSENA—The New York Power Authority (NYPA) will continue its free Friday movie matinees in December with showings of holiday-themed movies at the admission-free Hawkins Point Visitors Center and near the St. Lawrence Franklin D. Roosevelt Power Project.

The free movies will be shown Fridays in December in the visitor’s center auditorium at 1:30 p.m. Free popcorn will be available.

December movies are:

Dec. 7: “A Christmas Kiss,” (2011). A romance about how one kiss can change everything.

Dec. 14: “Mrs. Miracle,” (2009). With the holidays approaching, finding a housekeeper has proven to be near-impossible, until Mrs. Emily Merkle shows up at the Websters’ door, ready to turn their lives around.

Dec. 21: “A Case for Christmas,” (2011). A lawyer finds himself defending Santa Claus in the biggest trial in history.

In addition to the Friday matinees, NYPA will also be showing family-friendly movies on Dec. 26, 27 and 28 to coincide with the school break for the holidays. A holiday-break movie schedule will be announced shortly.

Besides enjoying the movies, visitors can sample the array of hands-on exhibits at the Hawkins Point facility, which presents information on such subjects as water power and the St. Lawrence-FDR project. Visitors may also enjoy the panoramic views of the power dam.

For further information, please call the visitors center at 764-0226 or visit www.nypa.gov.
