POTSDAM -- The Festival of Sacred Music and Text will take place Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Potsdam.

Participants include choirs and readers from a variety of local congregations and campus groups, including First Church of Christ Scientist, St. Mary’s, Congregation Beth El, Potsdam Masjid, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, First Presbyterian, United Methodist, and SUNY Potsdam’s Crane Concert Choir.

The Festival brings together Potsdam’s many faiths to share sacred music and readings with one another and with the community.

Admission is free, but donations to Ministries in the North Country (MINC) will be accepted at the door.

A reception will follow.

"This Festival is an opportunity for us to come together from different faith backgrounds, appreciating the individuality of the various religious communities that are found right here in Potsdam,” said Paula Jenson-Moulton, president of Potsdam Interfaith Community.

“We can celebrate our unity in each other's unique diversity! It is in this spirit that as an organization we have decided to take on the new name, Potsdam Interfaith Community, to fully reflect our commitment to work together for the benefit of the entire Potsdam community."

The mission of the Potsdam Interfaith Community (formerly Ministerial Association of Potsdam) is to celebrate diversity within our community by providing mutual support, encouragement, and education through acts of service and compassion, common witness, and spiritual and intellectual growth.
