OGDENSBURG - Dagmar Jaunzems, Frederic Remington Art Museum Docent, will be the next presenter at the museum’s Wednesday, April 13 Art Highlights Series.

Jaunzems will be leading a discussion titled Looking at Paintings; Exploring Remington's Technique. The discussion will take place in the galleries at the Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., at 2 p.m.

Jaunzems will be heading a talk that revolves around interpreting Remington's use of color theory, compositional layout, use of positive and negative space, and light source in his works.

Jaunzems offers a look inside Remington's mind as he created his masterpieces, giving insight in to what he was thinking as he was working and the steps he took as he evolved into a master artist. This is a 'don't miss' lecture for all Remington fans.

Jaunzems has a strong background in teaching art interpretation.

Her teaching background and accomplishments span from High School Art Teacher in Toronto, Ont. to Adjunct Art History Lecturer at two local universities: St. Lawrence University in Canton and at SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, to Director of the Canton Free Library and Library Consultant for the North Country Library System in Watertown.

As well she supervised the production of a library publication on art and architecture for the J.P. Getty Trust.

She holds a Bachelors of Arts, a Masters in Education, a Masters in Art History, and a Masters of Library Science.

Currently Jaunzems is working as a docent at the museum cataloguing its books into a formalized library using the Library of Congress system on the second story of the museum’s Education Center.
