MASSENA -- In St. Lawrence County, over 90 percent of children are still riding in vehicles unsafely, according to Mary Davison, St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Information Specialist, and she is offering a chance to find out if your child is one of them.

From 1 to 4 p.m. Sept. 21, experts will examine your child safety seat and how you install it, at the Massena Fire Station, 34 Andrews St.

Drivers are asked to bring the vehicle owner’s manual and child safety seat instructions, if you have them.

There is no cost for the service.

Sponsors include The North Country Child Safety Coalition, with nationally certified child passenger safety technicians from the Massena Police Department, the St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Program, Seaway Valley Ambulance, and the New York State Police. Info: contact Davison at 379-2306.
