MASSENA -- Donations are being accepted for an event later this month that will provide free school supplies, bike helmets and school clothes for kids.
Through Aug. 23 people can drop off items for the "Get Ready for School Event" at Blevins Seaway Motors, 98 Center St. Items include school supplies, bike helmets and gently used or new clothes. Blevins will match the school supplies and helmets that are donated.

The “Ready 4 School” event will be held Aug. 27 at Massena High School from 3 until 7 p.m.
There will be bicycle tune-ups, bicycle safety, and limited helmets. In addition, Massena police, Horizons, Massena Library, and other organizations are expected to attend with educational tables, information, and resources.
Public transportation will be provided via pick up spots.
