CANTON -- "Debutante Balls," described as a "theatrical stand-up comedy dance" by performance artist Scott Turner Schofield, will be at St. Lawrence University Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre, Griffiths Arts Center.
The event is open to the public, free of charge.
Schofield guides audiences gently and genteely through the many ways he "came out" in Southern society as a lesbian, radical feminist and finally, as a transgender man - poking fun along the way at gender roles and nostalgia for gone-with-the-wind traditions in modern times.
