POTSDAM -- The Crane Jazz Band and Crane Jazz Ensemble will present a joint performance Thursday, April 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam with special guests from the Canton Central School Jazz Band and Combo.
The Crane Jazz Band will select works from a program including such pieces as "Sue's Changes," by Charles Mingus, "The Star-Crossed Loves" by Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn, and "Brazil" by Ary Barroso.
The Canton Central School Jazz Band and Jazz Combo, directed by Tim Savage, will perform several arrangements including Miles Davis' "Tune Up," Neal Hefti's "Girl Talk," and Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther Remix."
The Crane Jazz Ensemble will conclude the concert with performances of Tim Hagans' "Missed the Ballgame Blues," Carmichael & Adams' "Little Old Lady," among several.
