POTSDAM – Community Performance Series is proud to present performances of “Annie,” one of the world’s best-loved musicals, this summer from Tuesday, July 27 to Saturday, July 31 in Snell Music Theater, SUNY Potsdam.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. July 27 through 31, with an additional matinee showing at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
“Annie” focuses on a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City orphanage.
Vic DiMonda will return from New York City again this year to direct the show, which will be accompanied by a live orchestra conducted by Tim Savage.
The production would not be possible without a variety of local talent working with CPS again this summer, including Sara Simon as music director, Meghan Janovsky as choreographer, Bill Newman as scenic designer, Keith Shult on sound design, Alice Reed on costume design and Sue Waters on props and set staging.
The “Annie” cast is also comprised of many actors and actresses from the surrounding area, including Jillian Todd as Annie, Keith Shult as Daddy Warbucks, Darlene Sinclair as Warbucks’ assistant Grace Farrell and Amy Stickles as the notorious Miss Hannigan.
CPS is happy to add a furry friend as well to the cast this year, with Oliver as the loveable mutt Sandy. Oliver is a Broadway professional trained by renowned animal trainer Bill Berloni, and will be accompanied by his handler Patrick Peavy.
Tickets for “Annie” are available for purchase through the CPS Box Office, located in Snell Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus and at Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam.
You can also purchase tickets by calling the CPS Box Office at 267-2277 or visiting www.cpspotsdam.org.
