POTSDAM -- The Fred W. Cleveland Computer Center at Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., has amended its fall schedule with the addition of two internet genealogy tutorials and more sessions of previously announced classes. While many of the classes are offered free of charge, registration is required by calling 265-7230. Appointments may also be made for individualized assistance with technology questions.

Using the Genealogy Website Family Search will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 14. The Family Search website rivals Ancestry.com in resources, including wills and records. The class provides an introduction to the free website and will cover searches and saving materials.

A class covering Basic iPhone Use will be offered from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28. Participants are required to bring their own iPhone to learn operations well beyond making simple phone calls.

A class familiarizing participants with Ancestry.com will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. Patrons in the Potsdam Library can use the family history website at no cost while inside the library.

An additional three-day session of QuickBooks Basics will be offered from 5:30 to 8 p.m. from Tuesday, Nov. 1 through Thursday, Nov. 3. The class will cover the basics of company set up, customer set up and billing, vendor set up and paying bills, overview of payroll set up, bank reconciliation and generation reports. A class fee of $50 covers all three sessions and must be received on or before Tuesday, Sept. 13.

An additional session of Introduction to Microsoft Word will be offered from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Participants will learn the skills needed to construct a document including a table in Microsoft Word.
