The conference includes college students and faculty from upstate New York for “student-driven” research presentations, a poster competition, and panel discussions, according to a news release.

The event is designed to foster collaboration and provide career and graduate school information.

About 70 students and faculty from Clarkson, SUNY Potsdam, St. Lawrence University and SUNY Canton are expected to attend.

Clarkson University Dean of Arts & Sciences Peter Turner will deliver the keynote address "Why Math Matters" Friday at 6:30 p.m. in Science Center Room 360.

Math jeopardy will be at 7 p.m., following the keynote speech.

Saturday's events will take place in Snell Hall. The poster competition will be 9:15 to 10 a.m., with career panels and a graduate school panel from 11 to 11:50 a.m.

Lea Jenkins of Clemson University will deliver a second keynote address, "Look for the Mathematics," at 1 p.m.
