CHIPPEWA BAY -- The Chippewa Bay Community Club, 1172 County Route 6, next to the post office, will sponsor a variety of classes, workshops and other events this summer.

The schedule follows:

• Saturday, July 9 -- “Making Cards From Scratch,” 10 a.m. - noon, Liz Scarlett, instructor; registration limited to 12; materials fee $4.

• Saturday, July 9 -- “History of Chippewa Bay Through Boats,” 7 p.m., Hallie Bond, curator, presents a timeline of Chippewa Bay based on riverboats; free, includes visit to the Chippewa Bay Maritime Museum.

• Sunday, July 10 -- “Guided Family Kayak Trek Up Chippewa Creek,” leave Chippewa dock at 10 a.m., bring your own kayak or rent from RiverBay Adventure Inn, Chippewa Bay; free, bring lifejacket and water bottle.

• Saturday, July 16 -- “Leather-Bound Book Making Class,” 9 a.m. - noon, Scott Ouderkirk, instructor; registration limited to 12, materials fee $25.

• Friday, July 22 -- “Guitar Workshop at Singer Castle with Loren and Mark,” 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., meet at Chippewa dock, world-class musicians from New York and New Zealand will teach techniques they learned from experts in the field; lunch and transportation included; Registration limited to 20. • Saturday, July 23 -- “Nature Photography Trek At Chippewa Bay Preserve,” 9 a.m. - noon, Chris Murray, photographer and guide; registration Limited to 10; fee $20.

• Saturday, July 30 -- “Trickin’ Out Your Stool Painting Class,” 9 a.m. - noon, Melanie Kimbler-Lago, instructor; registration limited to 10, materials fee $25.

• Saturday, Aug. 6 -- “Family Fun With Local Nature,” 10 a.m. - noon, with naturalist from Minna Anthony Common Nature Center, $5 per family.

• Saturday, Aug. 13 -- “Beauty By Nature Class,” (natural make-up made with herbs), 10 a.m. - noon, Robin Tubolino, instructor; registration limited to 20, materials fee $15.

• Saturday, Aug. 20 -- “Meet and Greet -- The St. Lawrence River Ecosystem Unraveled,” 7 p.m., John Farrell, Aquatic Professor at SUNY ESF and director of the Thousand Islands Biological Station Clayton will provide in-depth research.
