Children's programs at Canton Free Library to take a break in June, but summer reading program begins in July

CANTON -- Children’s programming at Canton Free Library, 8 Park St., will take a break in June and resume July 5 with a summer reading program.

Newborns to age 12 are welcome to sign up. There will be books, crafts, games and more. Newborns to 17 months with caregivers will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesdays. Ages 18 to 35 months with a caregiver is slated to meet on Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Kids ages 3 and four years old will meet at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Five and six year olds are set to meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. At 3 p.m. on Tuesdays seven and eight year olds will meet. Nine to 12 year olds are scheduled to meet Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m. An all ages event will be held Thursdays at 2 p.m.

This year there will be a puppet show titled “The Threw Millie Goats Buff” by Puppets with Pizazz, juggling by Gravitational Bull, a “Books at the Beach” event and the annual summer reading pet show.

Register for the summer reading program by June 24 in the children’s room at the library, 386-3712 ext. 4 or vwhite@ncls.corg.
