Children's programming resumes in October at Canton Free Library

CANTON -- Children's programming at the Canton Free Library, 8 Park St., will resume for the fall season in October.

Baby Storytime is intended for babies up to 18 months with a caregiver and will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. every Tuesday beginning Oct. 4. Activities will include books, bounce rhymes, songs, finger plays and social/play time.

Toddler Storytime is for ages 18-35 months with a caregiver and will run in four-week sessions beginning Monday, Oct. 3 from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Registration is required and events include books, flannel board stories, finger plays, music and crafts.

Preschool Storytime is for ages three to five and will meet Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. beginning Oct. 5. Activities include books, flannel board stories, songs, finger plays, movement and crafts.

The Junior Writers Group is for ages eight to 12 and meets the second and fourth Thursday of each month from 3:30 to 5 p.m. beginning Oct. 13. Children brainstorm on a theme, write and potentially illustrate a short story to be shared with the group, if desired.

Books and Beyond is for kindergarten through second graders and meets one Tuesday per month, beginning . Activities include books, games and arts and crafts. Registration is required by the Friday before the program.

Tween Time is for third through sixth graders and meets one Tuesday per month, beginning Oct. 5. Activities include books, games and art. Registration is required by the Friday before the program.
