CANTON -- North Country Public Radio marks the 50th anniversary of its first broadcast on Wednesday, March 7.
“This is an occasion for the entire community to celebrate,” said station manager Ellen Rocco. “Support from people across the North Country and Adirondacks has been the reason for the station’s success.”
To celebrate the occasion, the station is hosting an open house on March 7 from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at its studios on the second floor of the Canton Potsdam Hospital building at 80 E. Main St.
Visitors can tour the station, meet staff members, and share comments about the station for use on the air and in social media.
There will be refreshments throughout the day and a cake-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
