CANTON – Canton Central Thespians will present their final dessert theater Friday and Saturday, May 20 and 21 directed by Jared Carey at the Hugh C. Williams High School in Canton.

This year’s offering will feature two short plays; a drama called “Exit” by Ron Dune and a comedy called “We’re Not Making This Play Up as We Go… Honest!” by Bradley Walton. In “Exit,” five people awaken to find themselves on a stage with no visible exit and no memory of how they got there. While searching for the exit, they find a strange blackness which blocks their view beyond the edge of the apron. They then learn things about themselves which bring them closer to solving the mystery of why they've been imprisoned there. A huge leap of faith may be their only way out.

In the second feature, the curtain opens on a performance of the drama “Tragic Love.” The problem is, most of the cast is sick and have been replaced by the stage crew, who barely know the plot, much less the lines. They stumble through the show as best they can, until one of them finally decides to take matters into his own hands, launching the play in a completely unexpected direction.

Desserts will be served in the high school cafeteria from 7 to 7:45 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. in the high school auditorium.

Ticket prices are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens and include the show and one dessert. Tickets will be available in the high school office and at the box office the night of the show.
